The update will start with Exeed
Chery plans to begin supplying so-called connected cars to Russia in December, as Chinese Cars learned about it during the Chery International User Summit global conference in Wuhu.
In fact, Chery plans to provide Russian cars of its brands with Internet connectivity. This will allow crossover passengers to have online access to a range of services, including those offered by Yandex and VKontakte. The updated Exeed VX crossover will be the first to have access to the Network.
Russian guests of the event were shown how it would work at the headquarters of Chery International. The innovation can be called as localized as possible – it was created in close cooperation with the Yandex company. As a result, the service underwent “deep adaptation and customization.”
Internet with Yandex, VKontakte, and games will appear in all Chery, Omoda, and Jaecoo cars
Exeed VX, as well as other Exeed, Chery, Omoda, and Jaecoo cars in Russia, will receive units with SIM cards. The new product will come pre-installed with a whole group of applications, including Yandex and VK services, instant messengers, and even games. Journalists were shown the game Contra, the hero of which was controlled by the Chery manager using a joystick. You can activate and deactivate multimedia by voice, and the picture can be transferred from the large central screen to the right one in one motion.
Some options are still missing, and somewhere the translation is lame. However engineers continue to optimize functionality and expect that everything will work as expected in production cars. It is not yet known whether the owners of the same pre-restyling Exeed VX will be able to update their multimedia and connect to the Internet. But in the future, Chery will only have connected cars. The company claims that it will be the first in Russia to “digitize” the entire line.
