IPhone releases iOS 13.5 with many new features, starting with the contact tracing system that allows you to monitor the people infected by Covid-19
After the beta debut and related tests, Apple has released iOS version 13.5 for everyone. A highly anticipated version because it brings with it an important function: the system for contact tracing, that is the fundamental technology to be able to trace the infected with the coronavirus. This is the flow rate of the Aarogya Setu app, the application chosen by the Government in order to monitor the spread of the infections and intervene promptly on outbreaks in case of contacts with people positive to the virus.
The contact tracing system is integrated directly into the operating system, but by default, it is deactivated and users cannot activate it by pressing a simple button, but you have to wait for the Aarogya Setu app to be released. Still, on the Covid-19 theme, the iPhone is now able to recognize when a user wears a mask and automatically proposes an alternative unlocking system to the FaceID. Here’s how to download iOS 13.5.

iOS 13.5 will be one of the latest updates of this version of the operating system, pending the presentation of iOS 14, expected for the end of June during WWDC, the annual developer conference.
The most important novelty of iOS 13.5 is certainly the release of the contact tracing technology that will allow the Aarogya Setu app to work at its best. The system is available in countries that require the use of an app that takes advantage of the APIs made by Apple together with Google. By default, contact tracing is disabled and will be disabled until the Aarogya Setu app is launched. To activate it you need to enter the Settings, press on Privacy, Health and activate the “Covid-19 Exposure Logging” function.
On iOS 13.5 there is also the new function that automatically recognizes when you wear a mask. We talked about it a couple of weeks ago: on iPhones in which the FaceID is present when using facial recognition to unlock the smartphone, an alternative system will be proposed, such as the PIN.
How to download the iOS 13.5 update
The update is being released in these hours and may still not be available for your iPhone. To check if it is already present, press Settings, then General and finally on Software update. If it signals the presence of the update, all you have to do is download it and install it on your smartphone in order to start using all the latest features.
