IOS 14.5 allows Siri to choose the default music streaming service

Last week, Apple released iOS 14.5 beta for developers and testers. The update brings many different features, including unlocking your iPhone with your Apple Watch. Recently, users have noticed another equally important function that makes using Siri more convenient.

As reported by the MacRumors portal, with a link to posts from Reddit users from one subfeed, when you ask the voice assistant Siri to play music, it will allow you to choose the default streaming service you want to listen to music. The choice is set once, after which it can be changed in the settings. After you specify the preferred application, you ask Siri to play music every time it will play through it. Siri previously could play music, for example, from Spotify, but for this, when making a voice request, you had to specify exactly where to play the audio from.

According to Reddit users, the feature works intermittently. Sometimes Siri asks you to re-establish the default streaming service or back to Apple Music. So the function is not working perfectly yet, but there is still a lot of time ahead before the developers finish it.

We remind you that iOS 14.5 is at the stage of open testing, so the update’s stability is not guaranteed. To install the public beta, visit the Apple official website and follow the instructions.
