Apple sells a huge number of smartphones and increases order volumes

Due to the strongest demand for the iPhone 12 in the fourth quarter of last year, iPhone sales amounted to about 80 million smartphones. Apple also overtook Samsung to become the world’s most successful smartphone maker in the previous quarter.
Strong demand for the iPhone 12 boosted iPhone sales not only in the fourth quarter of last year, but also significantly influenced overall iPhone sales for the year. Based on production orders and estimates from research institutes, the company set a record last year and could be improved this year.
Informed whistleblowers report that Apple ordered 57 million iPhones to be produced in the first quarter. At the same time, back in January, the company planned to order 2 million fewer smartphones. Compared to the first quarter of last year, iPhone orders grew by an impressive 54%.
Analysts add that Apple will place an order for 44 million smartphones in the second quarter. Yes, this is less than in the first quarter, but 26% more than a year earlier.
