iPhone 13 credited with support for very fast Wi-Fi 6E

Although there are at least 10 months left before the launch of the iPhone 13 series, more and more information is emerging about these devices. Fresh rumours, based on information received from Apple suppliers, hint that the upcoming smartphones will support the new Wi-Fi 6E standard using Skyworks chips.

Wi-Fi 6E offers all the features and functions of Wi-Fi 6, including high data rates, low latency, and support for the 6 GHz band. Supporting additional frequencies will further increase bandwidth and reduce interference. Experts believe that support for the 6-GHz band will be the most important improvement in Wi-Fi technology over the past 20 years. It is claimed that this will provide new opportunities for using AR and VR applications. As a reminder, basic Wi-Fi 6 is supported by all Apple smartphones starting with the iPhone 11.

As for the iPhone SE series, analysts say Apple has no plans to update it in the near future. They confirm that an affordable smartphone with a 5.5- or 6.1-inch display will still be released, but this will not happen so soon. Back in April, authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the release of the enlarged iPhone SE will take place no earlier than the second half of 2021.
