So far, they have been loaded as still images

Microsoft announced that OneDrive cloud storage now supports Live Photos on iOS. If you have automatic camera backup enabled, the service will start loading your live photos in an animated state. Until now, they have been loaded as still images.

Microsoft is also adding Live Photos playback to the app. When you open Live Photo, you can press and hold the photo. You can also play Live Photos on Onedrive.com by clicking the Live icon in the upper left corner. Unfortunately, they will still appear as regular photos on Android and in the Windows Photos app.

Live Photos appeared back in 2015 on the iPhone 6s. This means that you can have many live photos on OneDrive that are stored as still images. Fortunately, Microsoft provides an easy and convenient way to fix this. In the OneDrive app on iOS, go to app settings and then choose Camera Upload> Reupload from Original Formats> Reupload Still Photos as Live Photos.

Unfortunately, editing Live Photos is still not supported. If you are editing Live Photo, the photo will be saved as a still image and you will lose the original format. You can restore the previous live version within 30 days.
