This is one of the innovations in iOS 17 and tvOS 17
Apple has added a feature to iOS 17 and tvOS 17 that allows Apple TV users to find their lost Siri Remote using their iPhone.
Before the launch of the latest Apple TV 4K, there were rumors that Apple would build Find My into Siri Remote. That didn’t happen, but in recent major software updates, Apple introduced a new iPhone option that does essentially the same thing.
iPhone taught to search for Siri Remote from Apple TV
In early September, Apple quietly released new firmware for its second and third-generation Siri Remotes. In the new firmware TVOS 17 and iOS 17, you can use your iPhone to find the remote control. If this feature is enabled, users will see a Find My-like interface on their iPhone that directs them to the remote control, with a circle on the screen that changes size to guide movement in the right direction.
Please note that the Find My Siri Remote feature is available on second and third-generation Siri remotes and is limited to Apple TV 4K models released in 2021 and 2022.
It is necessary to update the firmware, but this is done automatically. To run, the Apple TV must be updated, turned on, and connected to the Siri Remote.
