ChatGPT took 2 months for this result

The new Threads app has already surpassed 100 million users. This means that it reached the milestone significantly faster than even ChatGPT. The OpenAI chatbot passed the mark in two months, and Threads, which launched last Wednesday, reached it in a matter of days.

The Threads app became a hit almost immediately. In the first two hours, the number of users reached 2 million. In 7 hours, the application attracted 10 million subscribers, and various celebrities immediately joined the service, from Kim Kardashian to Gordon Ramsay. Then it was reported about reaching the marks of 30 and 70 million users. “The launch far exceeded our expectations,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Friday.

Users don’t just register: they also post. As recently as last Thursday, the app already had over 95 million messages and 190 million likes.

As of November last year, Twitter had about 260 million monetized daily active users. Most recently, an article for The Wall Street Journal stated that Twitter has about 535 million monetized active users.

Previously, Jack Sweeney, a college student from Florida, posted his first Threads post as @elonmusksjet after being banned by Twitter last December.

Jack Dorsey criticized the new Threads app for its lack of originality, calling it one of many clones trying to copy Twitter.
