Japanese players are disappointed with the quality of Shin Megami Tensei III remaster

A user of the ResetEra forum under the pseudonym raketenrolf drew attention to the dissatisfaction of Japanese players with the recently released Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster in their region.

Recall, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is a re-release of the PS2 version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne for modern systems – PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Given the nature of the remaster, nothing outstanding in technical terms was expected from him, but Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster still managed to disappoint buyers.

In particular, users of the Japanese Amazon segment complain about regular but transient drops in frame rate during battles and switching in the menu, as well as screensavers are taken from the PS2 version.

ResetEra user familiar with the project with the characteristic pseudonymナ カ ノ マ ツ シ ンчто added that the game also suffers from “insufficient polish”, poor music quality, and a lack of useful features like a mini-map.

Apart from the technical component, the remaster offers dubbing of scenes that were not previously voiced, a “merciful” level of difficulty, and Dante from Devil May Cry as a guest character (though not for free ).

The Japanese release of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster took place back on October 29 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The remaster will reach the Western countries in the spring of 2021 – it is quite possible that by this time the developers will have time to fix all the shortcomings.
