4.3 billion people have a smartphone
The world’s population recently crossed the 8 billion mark, and the number of smartphone users on the planet is approximately 4.3 billion.
This is the latest data from GSMA analysts for the end of 2022. Thus, every second resident has a smartphone, or 54%.
Just over half of the world’s population uses smartphones
About 4.6 billion people use mobile Internet services, of which 4 billion use smartphones for this task. The rest use modern push-button smartphones. Mobile Internet coverage has not changed much over the years and reaches 95%, that is, almost every person on Earth with a device can use the mobile Internet.
