This is an analogue of the flagship Telluride crossover, but with an electric power plant.
Kia is in full swing preparing for the premiere of its top electric crossover EV9. Recently, the car was filmed live during an advertising shoot, and now the company itself has published a couple of video teasers. One demonstrates tricky front lighting, the other shows the silhouette of a car.
Chinese automakers have long been integrating LEDs not only directly into the headlights, but also into the bumper (just think of Geely’s Zeekr 009), and Kia is implementing something similar in its EV9. Only here the LEDs do not cover the bumper, but are located along the edges of the grille. The lights on the trunk lid have complex graphics, which makes them very different from the rather simple Telluride lights.
Kia showed off the big 7-seater 400-horsepower EV9 crossover in a video.
Again, unlike the Telluride, the EV9’s silhouette is more dynamic, as can be seen from the styling of the rear end and the way the roof slopes gently towards the triangular pillars.
The EV9 will debut first in the US, and judging by the fact that the company is already showing the final design in teasers, this will happen soon (during the spring). In the basic version, a single electric motor with a capacity of about 200 hp is expected, in the top version there will be a power plant of two motors (respectively, all-wheel drive) with a power of about 400 hp. Since the crossover is large, it can accommodate 6 or 7 people.
