Kickstarter Funded Role-Playing Tactic King Arthur: Knight’s Tale From Action RPG Authors About Van Helsing

The turn-based tactical RPG King Arthur: Knight’s Tale from Hungarian NeocoreGames, creator of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, has raised the money on Kickstarter to successfully complete the campaign. At the moment, three days before the end of accepting funds, there are over $ 181 thousand on the game account. The first additional objective was also achieved.

Due to the fact that the amount has exceeded $ 170 thousand, a sixth character class will appear in the game – the sage (Sage). It is a battlemage who casts ice spells and blessings – as opposed to an Arcanist who uses fire magic. In melee combat, the sage is more resilient than ranged units.

The next additional objective – PvP mode – will unlock if the fees reach $ 195 thousand. In total, more than three thousand users have already taken part in the financing.

In the latest update to the Kickstarter blog, the developers talked more about the loyalty system. One of the most important parameters – the loyalty of the heroes – changes depending on the decisions of the player. When building relationships with them, you need to remember that each of them is endowed with unique personal characteristics and can conflict with comrades.

As it turned out, the knight’s trust can be increased by taking his side in a dispute (disagreements may arise over the plot), granting him land, or assigning a title. When choosing bonuses, you should take into account the preferences of the heroes: some will be happy if they take away some of the treasures obtained during the mission, others if they get good equipment. In addition, you can organize feasts and knightly tournaments, as well as help with wedding ceremonies. In some cases, loyalty will remain high if the player does not send the hero on certain tasks.

The level of loyalty is reflected in the gameplay. The most loyal heroes will gain advantages both in battles and during missions. Knights who doubt their leader will show themselves worse in battles. In case of serious mistrust, they will refuse to perform some tasks or even leave the Round Table forever and oppose the player.

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a hybrid turn-based tactical game and traditional RPG with an emphasis on characters. In the role of Sir Mordred, who ended up on the island of Avalon with King Arthur, users will control a group of heroes. It is necessary not only to send a detachment on campaigns but also to rebuild the base – Camelot Castle. The plot will have to make a choice that will affect the further development of the story.
