Suppliers have been in this business for a long time and have been selling counterfeit goods from various manufacturers.
In collaboration with India’s Government, Xiaomi has successfully confiscated $ 450,000 worth of counterfeit Xiaomi products. The products came from four suppliers from Chennai and three from Bangalore. This is part of its proactive anti-counterfeiting plan, the Indian government said.
Large suppliers of fake Xiaomi products detained
After Xiaomi filed a complaint with the local police station, the police carried out surprise inspections on the market in October and November. Investigations have found over 3,000 counterfeit products, including mobile phone cases, earphones, portable batteries, chargers, and earphones. Shop owners from these two cities were arrested on charges of selling counterfeit Xiaomi products.

Due to the increase in the number of counterfeit products in India, Xiaomi India has set up a dedicated working group to monitor the market and take action in such cases constantly. Xiaomi India said that shoppers should be careful with such incidents and only buy original items from authorized stores. Also, users should only have their phones repaired at authorized service centers and only use original accessories.
