Leica Camera AG and Sharp announce long-term technology partnership
The AQUOS R6 smartphone has an image sensor that is atypically large for smartphone cameras (its optical format is 1 inch). The sensor is paired with a lens developed by Leica.
When communicating about the partnership, the companies reminded a little about their history. The Japanese company Sharp, which is a large electronics manufacturer, was founded in 1912. The German company Leica Camera AG, specializing in the production of digital and analog cameras, lenses for them, binoculars, scopes and other optical devices, was founded in 1849.
