Lenovo unveils IdeaPad 5G laptop with 5G support and up to 20 hours battery life

Lenovo has prepared for the all-digital CES 2021 Consumer Electronics Show with the IdeaPad 5G laptop’s announcement. The novelty, as reflected in the name, can work in the fifth-generation cellular networks.

The computer is made on a hardware platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G with a Qualcomm Adreno 680 graphics accelerator and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 multi-mode modem. Where 5G networks are not available, 4G / LTE4 connectivity can be used. Besides, there is support for Wi-Fi 5.

The IdeaPad 4G / LTE laptop is also presented on the Snapdragon 8c platform: it does not have the ability to work in 5G networks.

The new items are equipped with a 14-inch Full HD display (1920 × 1080 pixels) with 100% coverage of the sRGB colour space. The equipment includes 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB PCIe solid-state drives.

The laptops are equipped with Dolby Audio, a large touchpad and a USB Type-C port. The declared battery life on one recharge of the battery reaches 20 hours. The weight is approximately 1.2 kg. The operating system is Windows 10.

The price of the laptops and launch dates in various markets will be announced at a later date.
