Lenovo updates ThinkPad P mobile workstations with Cezanne and Tiger Lake processors
Lenovo today unveiled many updated ThinkPad notebooks. Some of them are the second-generation ThinkPad P14s, ThinkPad P14si, and ThinkPad P15s mobile workstations. These solutions are designed to work with resource-intensive applications like Solidworks, ANSYS, AutoCAD, PTC Creo, etc. The updated models received fresh 11th generation Intel Core processors (Tiger Lake) and AMD Ryzen 5000 series chips (Cezanne).
The second-generation Lenovo ThinkPad P14si and ThinkPad P15s are ready to offer the Tiger Lake Core i7 vPro processors. Which chip models are announced in the updated laptop models, the manufacturer promises to announce later. As a graphics subsystem, the new items use the NVIDIA T500 graphics accelerator (formerly known as the Quadro T500) with 4 GB of dedicated video memory. The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s offers AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, and Radeon Vega integrated graphics.
All three laptops can be equipped with up to 2TB solid-state drives and offer up to 48GB of RAM. It should be noted that one of the memory sets is soldered directly to the motherboard of the mobile workstation. Lenovo ThinkPad P14si and ThinkPad P14s variants are equipped with 14-inch IPS displays. The choice will be offered screen options with support for 4K UHD or Full HD resolutions. In the first case, the screen has a brightness of 500 cd / m 2. It offers a certificate of factory calibration X-Rite Factory Color Calibration (FCC), and the second is presented in three versions: with a brightness of 500 cd / m 2 and support for 72 percent coverage of the NTSC color space; with the brightness of 400 cd / m 2 (72% NTSC); as well as with a brightness of 300 cd / m 2 and support for touch input.
The ThinkPad P15s has a 15.4-inch screen, also available as a 4K or Full HD panel. The latter offers a peak brightness of 600 cd / m 2, calibrated X-Rite Factory Color Calibration (FCC ), as well as certificates of conformity HDR400 and Dolby Vision HDR.
The laptops’ equipment includes two USB 3.2 Type-A connectors, two Thunderbolt 4.0 (Type-C), one HDMI 2.0, a LAN connector, a slot with support for microSD memory cards, and one combined audio connector. Additionally, the ThinkPad P14s and P14si laptops are equipped with a Side Docking Connector.
An internal 50 Wh battery powers all three Lenovo Mobile Workstation models. A 65W fast charging adapter is included. In other equipment of new products, you can select an HD camera with a shutter, support for Wi-Fi 6E (only for ThinkPad P14si and P15s models), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. LTE support is also available via built-in eSIM.
The updated Lenovo ThinkPad P14si and ThinkPad P15s mobile workstations will go on sale in March. Their cost will start at $ 1389. Sales of the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s model will start in May. The price for it is $ 1169.
