Lenovo Yoga 9i convertible laptop will receive Intel Tiger Lake processor and leather case

Lenovo has unveiled new flagship laptops Yoga 9i and IdeaPad Slim 9i, which are expected to be released in October and November this year, respectively.

The Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 convertible laptop, which replaces the Yoga C940 released last year, will feature next-generation Intel processors. At the same time, he will be able to please with support for up to 18 hours of battery life.

Lenovo has not specifically indicated which next-generation processors will be used in the new product, although it is clear that we are talking about Intel Tiger Lake mobile chips, which will be announced on September 2. It should be noted that the next-generation processor will receive the 14-inch Yoga 9i model. And the version with a 15.6-inch display will have a much more powerful chip up to Intel Core i9-10980HK, graphics card up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q, and support for up to 13 hours of battery life.

Unlike the Yoga 9i, the Yoga Slim 9i (aka IdeaPad Slim 9i) ​​is a regular clamshell laptop. The Slim 9i’s lid is covered in leather, which is also an option for the 14-inch Yoga 9i. These are Lenovo’s first consumer notebooks with leather trim.

In addition to the processors, the 14- and 15-inch versions of the Yoga 9i differ in communication capabilities. The younger model has two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, the younger model has two ports with Thunderbolt 3 support. According to the company, the Slim 9i is one of its thinnest and lightest notebooks. It is 1.37 cm thick and weighs 1.26 kg. In turn, the 14-inch Yoga 9i weighs 1.37 kg.

The device’s aluminum housing is robust and can withstand pulling forces of up to 3 kg.

Like the C940, both Yoga 9i models have Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers built into the pivot hinges. Both models also feature an active stylus that charges in the storage compartment when not in use.

In turn, Slim also has a number of features. For example, a keyboard called Smart Sense Keyboard, which automatically adjusts the backlight based on ambient lighting conditions. And on the side of its body, there is a button to turn off the webcam.

The 14-inch Yoga 9i starts at $ 1,399 for the metal version and $ 1,699 for the leather-trimmed version. The 15-inch model starts at $ 1,799. The IdeaPad Slim 9i laptop will go on sale for $ 1599.
