Let’s just turn off this stupid AMD fTPM thing

AMD has not yet been able to completely solve the problem

The creator of Linux, Linus Torvalds, in a recent letter to colleagues, suggested disabling the “stupid” AMD fTPM system in the operating system.

Thus, Torvalds expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that in some cases the AMD solution leads to small freezes lasting one to two seconds. The bug was discovered last year, AMD released several different BIOS updates, but the problem has not yet been completely resolved.

Let’s just turn off this stupid AMD fTPM thing

Let’s just disable that stupid fTPM hwrnd thing. Why would anyone use this crap if every machine has it? I don’t see anything wrong with just saying, “That fTPM thing doesn’t work.” Even if it works in the future, the alternatives are just as good.

It should be noted that this problem also manifests itself in Windows, where it is also not completely resolved. However, it does not affect everyone.

AMD has already published solutions to the problem even without updating the BIOS.
