LG announces world’s largest OLED TV

Now the manufacturer will have models with screens with a diagonal of 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, 83, 88 and 97 inches

LG Electronics said on Monday it will showcase the world’s largest OLED TV at the upcoming IFA 2022 Electronics Show in Berlin as it hopes to expand its portfolio of large OLED TVs and solidify its leadership in the premium TV segment.

The South Korean tech company said the model will be available on the market in the fourth quarter. With the arrival of the largest display size, LG’s OLED TV range will be available this year in 42″, 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″, 83″, 88″ and 97″ screen sizes.

In the premium TV segment ($2,500 and up), Samsung Electronics has a 53.6% market share, followed by LG at 21.5% and Sony at 17.2%, according to research firm Omdia.

In the OLED TV segment, LG retained its No. Omdia predicts that OLED TVs will account for 55% of the European premium TV market this year. It is expected that by next year their share will grow to 66%. OLED TVs accounted for 33.2% of all LG TV sales in the first half of the year.
