LG may release augmented reality glasses in 2021
According to the latest data, LG is preparing to release a new wearable device. They may be augmented reality glasses, which are scheduled to launch in 2021. The source of the information was the ETNews Internet edition. The device will be developed in collaboration with Japanese mobile operator NTT DoCoMo.
According to the source, the smart glasses will weigh only 79.38 g, which is heavier than a regular pair of glasses, but noticeably lighter than all AR and VR headsets on the market at the moment. ETNews reports that LG and NTT DoCoMo are currently discussing and refining the device’s features. It is noteworthy that the two companies have previously worked together on technologies for 5G and LTE networks.
The upcoming device is expected to rely on the processing power of a smartphone or other device, thanks to which the manufacturer will be able to achieve such a modest weight for products in this category, although this data has not yet been confirmed. LG officials have so far declined to comment on these plans, but if the reports are correct, the new glasses will be unveiled in 2021.
