LG unveils list of smartphones that will receive updates to Android 12 and 13
South Korean company LG Electronics has published a list of smartphones planned to be updated to future versions of the Android operating system. In total, about a dozen and a half cell phones will receive the update.
Recall that on April 5 this year, LG announced its withdrawal from the smartphone market. Later it became known that the company intends to release software updates for premium devices within three years. The list of devices has been announced, the owners of which will be able to download the latest version of the OS.
It is planned to update to Android 11 models Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE, V50S, V50, G8, Q31, Q51, Q52, Q61, Q70, Q92, and Q9 One. That is, in addition to the flagships, mid-range models will also receive updates.
Smartphones Wing, Velvet, Velvet LTE, V50S, V50, G8, Q31, Q52, and Q92 will be transferred to the Android 12 software platform. Finally, the flagship smartphones Wing, Velvet, and Velvet LTE will receive Android 13.
Currently, LG continues to produce smartphones under the terms of contracts with partners and telecom operators. By the end of July, however, this business will be closed.
