Starting with the Galaxy S7, Samsung’s flagship smartphones are IP68 rated. All three models of the new Galaxy S21 series are also no exception.

Live: Samsung Galaxy S21 has been underwater for 11 days

One of the Samsung Galaxy owners, which hosts the YouTube channel Photo Owl Time Lapse, is currently broadcasting an experiment that has been going on for the 11th day in a row (almost 250 hours). All this time, the smartphone is in the state underwater (in the aquarium). The smartphone is charged using a wireless station.

In the video description, the author says that he had to take out his smartphone twice to reset the timer since the built-in stopwatch does not work for more than 99 hours, 59 minutes 59 seconds.

Interestingly, the phone issued a moisture detection warning after being underwater for 117 hours 53 minutes. At this moment, the screen practically did not respond to pressing, while the smartphone itself switched from one application to another. After 241 hours, it was decided to test the speakers, but they are almost inaudible.

Like other manufacturers selling IP68 devices, Samsung does not provide warranty service for smartphones that show signs of moisture penetration inside.
