“Loads of problems”: Steam users criticized Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond for VR

On December 11, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts released Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, a shooter for Oculus VR headsets. The game is also distributed on Steam, where users have already tried it out and share their impressions. More than half of the buyers were dissatisfied with the shooter for various reasons – from outdated game design to technical problems.

At the time of publication of the news, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond had 453 reviews on Steam , of which only 48% were positive. Among the negative aspects of the shooter, users noted poor optimization, lack of compatibility with individual controllers, outdated game design, animations from twenty years ago, high price and much more. Moreover, some of the buyers did not even want to launch the shooter, and on very productive video cards. Examples of feedback from dissatisfied players are shown below.

Koeless : “Above and Beyond is an insult to the veterans who were interviewed by the developers. Doesn’t even meet the minimum level to be a mediocre VR game. Better donate $ 60 to charity and don’t buy it .

Springfield.gtkw : “This game has a ton of problems and definitely needs some extra time [to polish]. Don’t buy it for $ 60: wait six months for the patches, or get a discounted project in a few months. I requested a refund .

Fake Taxi : How can a AAA game not have a smooth twist in 2020? Even indie projects have complete control, so why is it not here? “
