MacBook sales grew solidly in the third quarter, securing the fourth place in the laptop market for Apple

Apple maintained its position as the world’s fourth-largest laptop manufacturer in the third quarter of this year, according to a recent report from Strategy Analytics. In total, the company has shipped about six million laptops.

In the third quarter, Apple sold 1.7 million more laptops than in the same period last year, showing a 39 percent increase. The industry average growth rate is 34 percent.

It is worth noting that HP for the first time in many years bypassed Lenovo in laptop shipments, selling 14.7 million laptops, which is only 100 thousand more than the Chinese company sold. Dell maintained its position as the third-largest laptop manufacturer with 8.5 million of those devices shipped.

Overall, the market grew 34 percent over the same period last year. According to analysts, the third quarter could have been even more productive, but the volume of supplies did not match the rather high demand. Moreover, many manufacturers have faced this.

Apple CEO Tim Cook told investors that the company is working very hard to address current supply issues. In the fourth quarter, analysts say the ability of vendors to meet growing laptop demand will be a key driver of growth.
