Macs with M1 processor won’t work with ultra-wide monitors, but Apple will fix it

Apple has promised to fix the ultra-wide monitor support issue on new M1-based Macs soon. Writes about this 9to5Mac. The exact date of the corrective update has not yet been announced.

New Mac owners have noticed that when connecting ultra-wide monitors, the devices do not support the required resolution. The cause of the problem is unknown. Apple said it is aware of the problem and plans to fix it in the next macOS update.

One of the readers of the resource said that the problem can be solved using the SwitchResX tool. Through it, the system offered him the correct resolutions to fit the monitor.

This isn’t the only problem with Apple’s new M1 chips. The device also supports only one external display. In addition, users have encountered compatibility issues with many applications such as Edge, Outlook, Winzip and others.
