Mark Zuckerberg used face-to-face meeting with Donald Trump to harm TikTok

According to online sources, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg may have used a private meeting with US President Donald Trump to push him to decide to block TikTok in the United States.

The source notes that during Zuckerberg’s visit to Washington last year, he publicly and privately spoke about the threat posed by the Chinese short video service. According to reports, it was after a meeting with the head of Facebook that US senators began to express concern that TikTok could pose a threat to the security of users’ confidential data.

US Senator Josh Hawley’s spokesman hinted that Zuckerberg is using TikTok to distract the regulator from his own problems and push lawmakers to eliminate the Chinese rival. It was said that Facebook’s statements about the dangers of TikTok are part of a ” PR campaign to boost your own reputation .” In addition, Facebook is spending record sums lobbying for its interests.

As for TikTok, the service accused Facebook of trying to use the policy to harm a competitor. Last month, TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer issued an open letter in which, among other things, he urged Facebook to ” launch another copycat product after another Lasso clone failed .” He also noted that the American company is conducting ” malicious attacks under the guise of patriotism to end TikTok’s presence in the United States .”
