Marvel’s Avengers Lost 96% of Steam Players Two Months After Release

Various specialized resources called Marvel’s Avengers one of the most anticipated games of 2020, but the release put everything in its place: two months ago, at the start of sales, the game could not get into the list of 40 most popular Steam projects (the peak of simultaneous players was only 29 thousand) … And now it became known that the number of users in the “Avengers” has dropped by 96%.

Although Marvel’s Avengers’ weak launch in September didn’t seem all that bad compared to the average daily lows of existing online shooters like Destiny 2 and Warframe. However, user retention is key to the game’s success as a service, and since its release, Marvel’s Avengers has seen one of the most rapid user base losses of any high-budget project.

Marvel’s Avengers had no more than 1,190 concurrent online last weekend, down 96% from launch numbers. The average number of concurrent users in November is no better at around 700 players per hour.

Square Enix declined to release sales figures for Marvel’s Avengers. However, the publisher recently reported losses of $ 48 million after the game was released.

Marvel’s Avengers was released on September 4 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
