Marvel’s Avengers will not go shareware, and work on Spider-Man continues

The head of Crystal Dynamics, Scott Amos (Scot Amos), in an interview with IGN, commented on the probability of transition of Marvel’s Avengers on the shareware model and the game’s timing Spider-Man.

Marvel’s Avengers’ launch turned out to be not the most successful, and in recent months, the project has been actively losing its audience. In this regard, there were suggestions that the situation could be improved by the transition of the game to a different distribution scheme.

However, Crystal Dynamics has no doubts in the chosen direction, and, according to Amos, Marvel’s Avengers is not going to transfer to shareware rails: “For us, the existing model will remain valid in the future

“Look, you buy a ticket once, walk into our amusement park, so to speak, and look at the rides available. And they are part of the offer, and we regularly add new free content, ” Amos drew a parallel.

As for Spider-Man, unlike Black Panther, there was no place for him in the plans for the development of Marvel’s Avengers announced yesterday during the current year.

“I can confirm formally and officially that work on [Spider-Man] is underway right now. He’s still on our roadmap for the future, ”commented Amos on the lack of news about the superhero.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Spider-Man will appear in the game (only on PlayStation consoles) after Black Panther, whose arrival is not expected until the summer.
