Mass Effect 3 writer talks about his final game, which he did not have time to translate

Edition of The Gamer interviewed writer Mass Effect 3 Chris Hoppler (Chris Hepler). In a conversation, he said that he was working on his own version of the game’s ending and shared details on this matter. Unfortunately, Hepler did not have time to finish the work on time, which is why his ending was not included in the project.

Caution: Further in the news there are important plot spoilers for the Mass Effect series.

Chris Hepler said during the conversation: “I would not go to ‘space magic’ at all. I planned to write not one, but three articles of the Crucible code: the scientists’ thoughts about it, what the object will become after the construction is completed, and the third, detailing how the Crucible will kill the Reapers. It could be read immediately after returning to Earth

The screenwriter was inspired by the book “Probable Moon” by Nancy Kress. According to his version, the Crucible would create a powerful release of energy, which would be completely harmless to subjects with low atomic mass. That is, organic flesh should not suffer as a result of the explosion, but the Reapers would be exterminated. Captain Shepard would have died, too, as many cybernetic implants were implanted into his body during his recovery.

As conceived by Chris Hepler, the maximum permissible value would be the molar mass of niobium – 92.90638 g / mol. This metal does not rust and is used in body piercing and in the manufacture of surgical implants. Anything higher than the specified value was to be destroyed during the release of energy from the Crucible.

Unfortunately, Chris Hepler did not have time to work out his version, and in the meantime, the rest of the team had already advanced far enough with the infamous “traffic light”.

Recall that in the same interview, the writer debunked one of the popular fan theories about the final of Mass Effect 3.
