MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries brings crossplay and more to new platforms
Sold Out publisher and developer Piranha Games have announced a major update for the game on the official website of their action game MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, one of the features of the addition of crossplay.
The release of the large-scale patch will take place on the same day as the premiere of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries on Steam and GOG, as well as on the consoles Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S – on May 27 this year.
In addition to cross-platform multiplayer (the first in the history of the series), the update will bring over 30 significant changes, which result from a year of analysis of player feedback.
The developers also confirmed that users would be able to complete the upcoming Heroes of the Inner Sphere in co-op if only one of the participants in the session has a copy of the addon.
“We aimed to meet fan expectations of what the MechWarrior experience is in the upcoming release,” said Piranha Games President Russ Bullock.
In honor of the upcoming patch and release on new platforms, the developers also decided to reduce the base edition of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries to $ 30. In addition, a special robot Kobold Hero Mech will be included in the game on PC and Xbox.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries debuted on December 10, 2019, on the Epic Games Store. The previously mentioned addition Heroes of the Inner Sphere will also be available on May 27 this year.
