Meizu working on smart home and wearable devices
This year, Meizu introduced only the Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro smartphones, which were well received by users and observers, while they may remain the only devices from the manufacturer released in 2020.
Meizu 17 will be the company’s last smartphone this year, and FlymeOS will spoil advertising
At least, sources from China say that they say that in the second half of this year Meizu has no plans to release or at least announce new smartphones. The only reason is called the Meizu 17 series, which sells well. Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro are offered at prices ranging from $ 520 and $ 605 in China, they are far from being the most affordable Snapdragon 865 smartphones on the market, but in general, devices are still popular.
The same source adds that advertising will eventually appear in the Android-based FlymeOS branded shell, but it should not be intrusive. Meizu also plans to launch the smart home ecosystem and is preparing smart wearable devices that will be unveiled in the second half of this year.
Earlier, Meizu confirmed that it is working on new wireless headphones that are due out this fall.
