Named the first models
The Chinese auto company BYD introduced an adaptive suspension for cars, which was called BYD Cloud Car.
The BYD Cloud Car suspension includes an air suspension and a set of sensors that scan the road surface and adjust the dampers in real time. Also, if necessary, the car will be able to independently change the clearance value. Something similar was previously used only in premium cars.
Mercedes-Benz and other premium cars: BYD adaptive suspension is introduced
The first vehicle to use this suspension will be the BYD Yangwang U8. It is built on the new Yisifang platform and is equipped with four electric motors with a total capacity of 1100 hp. The maximum power of one motor is 275 hp, and the maximum torque is 320 Nm. Each motor drives one wheel, allowing the U8 to perform a 360-degree “tank turn” and move in “crab mode”. BYD Yangwang U8 can overcome off-road and move through shallow water.
It is reported that in the near future, top models of the BYD Han and BYD Tang lines will also be equipped with this system.
