Microsoft began testing the new version of the Feature Experience Pack for Windows 10

It became known that Microsoft has released a new pre-build of the Windows Feature Experience Pack numbered 120.2212.2020.0, which became available to members of the Insider Program on the Beta channel. This package is designed to improve Windows 10 features that are developed separately from the operating system.

For the past few months, Microsoft has been testing a new way to update Windows 10 features that are being developed separately from the platform itself. It is anticipated that separate Feature Experience Packs will be used to enhance these features, and will be released separately from the major biannual functional updates. Currently, there are few separately developed features, so the Experience Pack does not contain many fixes, but Microsoft plans to increase their number in the future.

The current Experience Pack is intended to improve the stability of the Snip & Sketch feature, especially when used with applications that frequently access the clipboard. It is also reported that Microsoft has temporarily excluded the function of inserting screenshots directly into folders in Explorer, as a serious error was identified in its work. The development of this tool will continue, and in the future, it will be tested again by insiders.

Distribution of the new Windows Feature Experience Pack has already begun and is currently available to Insiders on the Beta channel. When Microsoft plans to release the stable version of the package is still unknown.
