Microsoft has improved charging Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2

Microsoft has released another software update for the first and second-generation Surface Laptops. The main innovation of this firmware is the improved smart device charging.

Smart Battery Charging is a feature on Surface devices that helps slow battery failure over time. When the device detects that it is plugged into an outlet for an extended period of time, the maximum charging capacity is reduced to avoid a situation in which the battery loses its ability to hold a charge. Surface devices are packed with features to help prevent battery degradation.

This update is available for Surface Laptop or Surface Laptop 2 users that are running Windows 10 version 1903 or later. The update should install automatically, but you can manually check for it in Windows Update.
