Microsoft officially announced the Xbox Series X in November

Microsoft has confirmed via its official blog that the next-gen Xbox Series X will go on sale in November this year. This is the first time the company has set a more specific scope for launching a set-top box. Earlier, it was only mentioned about the “pre-holiday period” of 2020.

Unfortunately, Microsoft did not provide an exact launch date. However, according to the resource The Verge, the release of the console may happen in the first week of November, namely the fifth. But these data are not official. In addition, as the resource points out, it is likely that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the release may be postponed for several weeks, but in any case, no later than November.

In a published message, Microsoft also officially announced that, together with studio 343 Industries, they made a very difficult decision to postpone perhaps the main launch exclusive – Halo Infinite – to 2021. Previously, the company planned to release the game simultaneously with the release of the Xbox Series X. According to The Verge, the postponement of the Halo Infinite release means that there will be no big and significant games for the Xbox Series X from internal Microsoft game studios this year.

Instead of Halo Infinite, the company decided to conquer the hearts of players through the Xbox Game Pass service, as well as the release of “more than 50 new games” coming this year and will be fully optimized for the Xbox Series X. Among them: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Dirt 5, Gears Tactics, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Watch Dogs: Legion.

Microsoft added that more than 40 games coming this year will be able to take full advantage of the new Xbox Series X gaming console. They will be able to offer support for real-time ray tracing technology, up to 120 fps, very fast download, as well as support for Quick Resume technology. The latter allows you to almost instantly start the game from the place where the player stopped earlier. Such projects will include Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Madden NFL 21, and many others.

The company also said that backward compatibility of games on the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles will appear when the console launches this November.
