Microsoft pledges missing Final Fantasy games to Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has assured Final Fantasy fans that more games from the franchise will be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Back in 2019, she announced that almost all of them would be included in the service catalogue, but she never fulfilled her promise.

Speaking with TrueAchievements, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that the missing Final Fantasy titles announced for X019 are still planned for Xbox Game Pass.

“As we announced at X019, we’re thrilled to bring the Final Fantasy franchise with Xbox Game Pass to gamers,” he said. – We did this throughout 2020 and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing specific launch dates for new Final Fantasy games in the future

The X019 event took place in November 2019. There, Microsoft and Square Enix announced that numerous Final Fantasy games will appear on Xbox Game Pass and will be available to subscribers on Xbox consoles. During 2020, they did add some of them, but not all. Only five Final Fantasy titles are currently in the service catalogue: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XV (plus the multiplayer Final Fantasy XV: Comrades).

Microsoft and Square Enix are yet to add Final Fantasy X: HD RemasteredFinal Fantasy X-2: HD RemasteredFinal Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy to Xbox Game Pass XIII.
