Alerts appeared despite the prohibition of notification settings and even in full-screen games. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that the company is aware of Bing pop-ups appearing on top of games (ignoring notification settings) and has already removed such ads while the situation is being investigated. Tests and user reviews have confirmed that Microsoft has disabled ads.
