There is still no official fix
Xiaomi has already almost completed the initial distribution of the fresh proprietary MIUI 12 shell and has even begun to eliminate its “childhood diseases “. However, there is a rather serious problem that causes trouble for users of smartphones such as Poco F1, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9.
MIUI 12 “drains” smartphones Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco
Users of these smartphones complain about too fast battery consumption after installing the MIUI 12 shell, moreover officially released by Xiaomi, and not ported unofficial variations. The same problem was observed with MIUI 11 – the previous shell “sucked life” from smartphones like Xiaomi Mi 9T and Redmi K20.
A number of users of Poco F1, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 continue to search on forums on the network, including in the official Mi Community, for a solution to their problem. One of the moderators of Mi Community even stated that the situation with a noticeable decrease in battery life on MIUI 12 is the same for “all devices” and that this is a “known problem” that they hope to solve in future updates.
For the sake of fairness, it is worth noting that the problem, albeit quite widespread, is actually not observed in all updated models. Some owners of the Mi 9T Pro and Mi 8 SE smartphones even report improvements in battery life. Perhaps it all depends on the scenario in which smartphones are used.
