Debut scheduled for Q2 2021
Xiaomi has not yet finished distributing the stable proprietary MIUI 12 shell, but work on the next big update for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones is already underway.
MIUI 12 is no longer interesting. We are waiting for the big MIUI 13 update for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones
The first signs of work on MIUI 13 emerged back in April when the Chinese giant began polling users about what features and design changes they would like to see. It was also expected that the first official announcements regarding MIUI 13 would be made at the Xiaomi Mi Developer Conference (MIDC), which took place from 5 to 7 November. However, this never happened. Then there were rumors that the shell would officially debut in the second quarter of 2021.
Now strong confirmation of this has come. The plans for the presentation of MIUI 13 in the second quarter of 2021 were told by an authoritative moderator in the official Mi Community. This sounds quite logical, considering that MIUI 12 debuted in the first quarter of 2020, but there are still popular models for which the shell has not yet been released.
