The innovation is available for Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts
Google has announced that translation will be available in Gmail for mobile. It is available on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. More than 100 languages from all over the world are supported.
The app will use the display language set in your Gmail account settings to translate emails. If you’re a polyglot or don’t expect emails in languages you don’t speak as a native speaker, you can turn off Gmail translation for a specific language in the settings menu.
Mobile Gmail has learned to translate letters from more than 100 languages
The Gmail app on your phone will automatically detect if the email you receive is in a language other than the language you selected in your Gmail settings. The user will see a banner with a translation offer. If Gmail does not automatically detect the need for translation, then the user can always manually translate emails through the main menu.
Google has begun rolling out the translation feature for Gmail on Android. Full coverage of users can take up to 15 days. For iOS, distribution will begin on August 21, 2023. The innovation is available for Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts.
