At the heart of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1

The HTC U23 Pro smartphone has been spotted on Geekbench. Despite the name and relation to the U-series, which was once the flagship, the new device will belong to the middle segment, as the SoC Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will serve as the heart.

But there will be a lot of RAM – 12 GB. The benchmark does not determine any other data, but, apparently, the U23 Pro will be the most productive and expensive HTC smartphone in recent years. True, it is unclear whether HTC itself has anything to do with all the smartphones that are coming out now.

Formally, the novelty, apparently, will be the successor to the HTC U20 model, which was released back in 2020. This model was equipped with a Snapdragon 765G SoC and a large 6.8-inch screen.

The HTC U23 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, which is a mid-range chip that was released in early 2023. It has a single core clocked at 2.4 GHz, three cores clocked at 2.36 GHz, and four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The phone also has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Here are some of the benchmark scores for the HTC U23 Pro:

  • Geekbench 5: Single-core: 874, Multi-core: 3167
  • AnTuTu v9: 550,000
  • 3DMark Wild Life: 1164

These scores are comparable to other mid-range phones with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, such as the Xiaomi 12 Lite and the Nothing Phone (1). The HTC U23 Pro is not the fastest phone on the market, but it should be able to handle most tasks without any problems.

Here is a table comparing the benchmark scores of the HTC U23 Pro with some other mid-range phones:

Phone Geekbench 5 Single-core Geekbench 5 Multi-core AnTuTu v9
HTC U23 Pro 874 3167 550,000
Xiaomi 12 Lite 870 2806 540,000
Nothing Phone (1) 845 3000 530,000
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion 830 2700 520,000
Poco F5 820 2600 500,000

As you can see, the HTC U23 Pro is about on par with the other mid-range phones in terms of benchmark scores. This means that it should be able to handle most tasks without any problems, such as browsing the web, watching videos, and playing games. However, if you are looking for the fastest possible performance, you may want to consider a more expensive phone with a higher-end processor.
