The Russian operator MTS announced that on July 27, when replenishing a personal phone account, home Internet and TV, a commission of 1% of the payment amount is introduced.

Replenishment of the balance in a number of ways entails additional costs for MTS. From February 1, 2023, new conditions for replenishing a personal account are in effect: depending on the method of payment for communication services you choose, a commission of no more than 1% of the payment amount may be withheld:

  • when paying with bank cards in the My MTS application, on the mts.ru website, as well as in some partner services – 1%;
  • when paying using the SBP initiated in the My MTS application or on the mts.ru website – 0.4%.

From July 27, 2023, these conditions will also apply when replenishing the personal account of the phone, home Internet and TV.

The commission can be avoided by replenishing the balance through auto payment of MTS or any other bank, when paying in MTS retail stores, or by paying with an MTS Bank card in the My MTS application, on the mts.ru website, in the application and on the MTS-Bank website, as well as on the site pay.mts.ru/refill.
