MTS will finally cancel fees for Internet distribution no later than the end of February

Tariff cancellation will be carried out in stages

The MTS operator announced the deadline for completing the process of canceling payments for distributing Internet traffic from smartphones. According to the company, taking into account the necessary improvements to IT systems, the phased abolition of tariffs for Internet distribution will be completely carried out by the end of February 2024. In this case, tariffication will be canceled on all tariffs where this option is provided, including unlimited ones. Let us remind you that earlier we were talking about the return of free traffic distribution only for tariffs with prepaid packages, but not for unlimited ones.

MTS will finally cancel fees for Internet distribution no later than the end of February

According to MTS, the company made this decision “taking into account the socio-economic situation and meeting our users halfway.” Other large Russian operators – MegaFon, VimpelCom and Tele2 – began to cancel payments for distributing the Internet from smartphones since the end of October this year at the request of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). MTS first stated that it would not allow its subscribers to distribute the Internet for free from mobile devices, as this would lead to an increase in the cost of traffic for all tariffs. But then the operator changed his mind and decided to comply with the FAS requirements.
