Multiplayer, New Game + and More: Ghost of Tsushima Coming October 16 with Massive Content Patch

Developer Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced the release date for the Legends online mode and free content update for Ghost of Tsushima on the official PlayStation Blog.

Ghost of Tsushima

The samurai thriller Sucker Punch Productions will add multiplayer and new features on October 16. Legends will be free to download, but you will need a PlayStation Plus membership to access the multiplayer experience.

As stated in the artbook, in Legends you can find a storyteller named Gyozen. It will open the “gateway to the world of stories he has created” for users: in other words, the multiplayer lobby.

There are four unique character classes to choose from in “Legends”: a samurai is eager to fight, a hunter can unleash a hail of arrows on his enemies’ heads, a ronin can revive his comrades-in-arms, and an assassin can be transported to different points on the battlefield.

The developers also shared details about the types of tasks in the online mode:

  • story quests are for two players and focus on the stories of Gyouzen. The higher the difficulty level, the greater the reward;
  • Survival missions are designed for four players and involve repelling waves of advancing enemies. The longer the squad lasts, the more rewards it will receive;
  • The raids are for four players and are an “epic three-part adventure” The raid will be available “shortly after launch
