Nearly Perfect Co-op: It Takes Two Gets First Ratings
Today, March 24, the embargo on publishing reviews of It Takes Two, a co-op platformer from Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts, has lifted. In general, critics greeted the project very positively, praising it for its gameplay pace, various situations, and a successful combination of different genres.
The PS5 version has 90 points on Metacritic after 24 reviews. A similar situation with the variant for the Xbox Series X – 89 points with 16 reviews. On PS4 and PC, the scores are several points lower, but these platforms were less popular among journalists. Excerpts from reviews of individual publications are provided below.
GamesRadar (100 out of 100): “It Takes Two is a worthy Pixar-style adventure that continually innovates and offers players a great collaborative experience that you won’t find anywhere else. “
God is a Geek (100 of 100): «It Takes of Two, without a doubt – one of the best platformers I’ve played in the last ten years. The level design is incredible, and the sheer number of ideas embedded in the cooperative elements makes every second of the game very interesting. “
PC Gamer (80 out of 100): “A great co-op adventure that doesn’t take itself seriously, and that’s the only aspect where it fails. “
Windows Central (70 out of 100): “While the creative side of the game comes through varied gameplay and level design, the commercial side of the game — the narrative — feels half-baked. ”
It Takes Two will be released on March 26, 2021, on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S.
