New addition to Europa Universalis IV earned the lowest user rating of any Steam product
The Leviathan add-on to the global strategy Europa Universalis IV from Paradox Interactive, released at the beginning of the week, was not to like a few: it currently has the lowest user rating among all Steam products.
By the time of publication of the material, the share of positive reviews about Leviathan in Valve’s digital distribution service is only 10%, and the add-on’s rating has reached “Extremely Negative.”
It is worth noting that only about one and a half thousand Europa Universalis IV players have spoken about the quality of Leviathan so far, so the situation may still change for the better.
However, at the moment, Leviathan’s rating is lower than that of the senseless and merciless FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction (14%), abandoned in the middle of Spacebase DF-9 development (18%) and other failed projects.
Users were dissatisfied with the abundance of bugs (45 pages of complaints on the official forum speak for themselves), non-working mechanics, and tainted balance in many areas.
Technical issues and gameplay flaws will probably be fixed with patches, but what upset fans most of all was that Paradox Interactive considered Leviathan in its current form to be ready for sale.
Paradox Interactive, meanwhile, has already released update 1.31.1, which fixes several bugs, but the patch has not yet affected Leviathan’s rating. Europa Universalis IV is only available on PC (Steam).
