New details on the upcoming flexible smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 revealed
Samsung is announcing several new smartphones with flexible displays this year. The SamMobile resource, which regularly publishes reliable information about the South Korean giant’s upcoming gadgets, has revealed details about two flexible Galaxy devices.
In particular, it is reported that Samsung is developing a device codenamed SM-F926. In the commercial market, this model may debut under the name Galaxy Z Fold 3.
The smartphone will be made in a book format with a flexible screen that folds into the body. This panel is said to be 7.55 inches diagonally. Users can interact with the display using the proprietary S Pen. On the outside of the device, there will be a 6.21-inch screen.
Another new Samsung product appears under the code designation SM-F711: this code supposedly hides a new generation Galaxy Z Flip clamshell smartphone (most likely Galaxy Z Flip 2). The device is credited with a flash drive with a capacity of 128 and 256 GB.
Both smartphones will receive the Android 11 operating system with a proprietary add-on One UI 3.5. The official presentation is likely to take place no earlier than the middle of this year.
According to IDC estimates, Samsung shipped 266.7 million smartphones in the global market in 2020, ranking first in the leading industry players’ ranking with a share of approximately 20.6%.
