New Game +, Story Content and Gameplay Mechanics: Free Blasphemous DLC Coming August 4th
Team17 has partnered with development studio The Game Kitchen to share details of a free add-on to their religious-minded hardcore action platformer Blasphemous.
The update is called The Stir of Dawn and is aimed at PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The expansion is expected to be released on August 4 of this year simultaneously on all announced systems.
At the same time, on the appointed day, the PC version of The Stir of Dawn will be available exclusively on Steam, while the GOG service will reach later. When exactly, The Game Kitchen has not yet specified.
The then-unnamed expansion was originally slated to premiere early in the year. The Game Kitchen decided to scale up The Stir of Dawn to meet the expectations of the players.
As expected, The Stir of Dawn will add New Game + to Blasphemous. In addition, with the release of the addon, the project will have a mechanic called “Three Repentances”, within which the user can choose a set of negative effects for the hero.
The Stir of Dawn promises story content (bosses, enemies, and locations), finishing and counterattack systems, reworked map and voice acting, additional points for fast movement, balance fixes, as well as new items, animations, and level design.
Blasphemous was released on September 10, 2019, on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game tells the story of the adventures of the Penitent, who “fell into the trap of an endless cycle of death and rebirth. “
