According to Izvestia, citing the German publication Bild, the new government liners for the German Cabinet of Ministers may be left without a modern missile defense system. These aircraft should replace the old ones this year.

Contracts for the three new Airbus A350s are valued at 1.2 billion euros, with about 230 million of this amount to be spent on the installation of the aforementioned systems. Similar systems are installed on Airbus A340 aircraft currently used by the German government.

The German Ministry of Defense is considering abandoning this system, in particular, due to the long installation period, which takes six months. According to Bild, the office of the German President has already announced their readiness to agree with the plans of the German Ministry of Defense.

The source does not provide details about the system installed on government aircraft.
