New Intel drives combine Optane memory with QLC 3D NAND memory

Intel has announced the launch of its Optane Memory H20 with Solid State Storage customer solid-state drives. According to Intel, these drives provide “a new level of performance and large amounts of memory for gamers, creators of media and content, ordinary users and professionals.”

New Intel drives combine Optane memory with QLC 3D NAND memory

The new M.2 2280 drives combine Optane memory and QLC 3D NAND. The drives are suitable for laptops, desktops, all-in-one PCs and mini PCs. They are equipped with PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and support NVMe protocol. The sequential read speed reaches 3300 MB / s, the sequential write – 2100 MB / s. The performance on operations with random access in blocks of 4 KB reaches 65,000 IOPS in read mode and 40,000 IOPS in write mode.

The manufacturer offers models with 512 GB and 1 TB of flash storage. Optane memory in both cases is 32 GB. The drives will be available through OEM channels starting June 20th. The company does not quote prices.
